Calling all Straw Hats in the States: the One Piece is real, and it’s in Los Angeles.
The first official One Piece Mugiwara Store in the U.S. opens Friday, November 6, 2026, at Westfield Century City. Toei Animation calls it the largest official One Piece merchandise store to date, and it’s coming with LA-exclusive merch, original anime artwork and a very special version of Chopper.

Meet Surfer Chopper

The coolest part? An LA-exclusive Surfer Chopper who actually talks to you while you shop.
Chopper riding a wave in Southern California is honestly the perfect local twist they could’ve gone with. I need to see this in person!!
Opening Week Requires a Reservation
If you’re planning to go opening week, don’t just show up.
From November 6 through November 12, entry requires an advance reservation through the official Mugiwara Store LA website. The store says that window could change, so check before you head out.
There will also be a limited number of commemorative grand opening shopping bags. Once they’re gone, they’re gone.
Store Hours
- Monday–Thursday: 10 a.m.–9 p.m.
- Friday–Saturday: 10 a.m.–10 p.m.
- Sunday: 11 a.m.–8 p.m.
Hours follow the mall’s schedule, so double-check on holidays. For updates, the store is on Instagram at @onepiece_mugiwara_la and on X at @OP_MugiwaraLA.
The Nerd Crave Take
Anime merch is everywhere now, but grabbing a random Luffy figure at a big-box store isn’t the same as walking into a place built entirely around the series.
For a story that’s all about finding your crew, it feels right that U.S. fans finally get a real home base. One Piece has been running since 1997, and this might be one of the clearest signs yet of how big it’s become here.
LA is the only U.S. location announced so far. But if lines wrap around Century City, don’t be surprised if other cities start making their case.
Would you make the trip to LA, and which anime should open a U.S. store next?
Stay Curious. Feed the Crave.
